Day 1:Tuesday
24 January – Departure
Meet at Pearson airport and board a direct flight to Tel Aviv.
Day 2- Wednesday
25 January- Arrival, transfer to Tel Aviv.
The beginning of your journey- Shalom and welcome to the Holy Land. Upon arrival you will meet our representative and be transferred to your hotel in Tel Aviv. Spend the afternoon and evening at leisure in Israel’s cosmopolitan city. D
Day 3 -Thursday
26 January
Jaffa / Caesarea / Akko / Tiberias
Start your day with a short tour of Jaffa, where we will take a short walking tour in picturesque alleys of the old, fortified town and marvel at the views from the hill top. Drive north along the stunning Mediterranean coast to the archaeological ruins of Caesarea, built by Herod the Great in honor of Augustus Caesar. Visit the Roman Theater and the Crusader fortress. Continue to Haifa-Israel’s major port, for a panoramic sightseeing tour of the city, including the beautiful Baha’i Shrine and Persian Garden, Mount Carmel and the spectacular view over Haifa bay. Visit Acre {Akko} and its famous Crusader stronghold and medieval fortifications. After exploring the ancient ruins we drive eastwards toward the Sea of Galilee. Arrive at Tiberias and check-in to your hotel on the shores of Lake Kinneret. BD
Day 4- Friday
27 January
Sea of Galilee / Golan Heights
Start the day from historic Tiberias, driving along the shores of the Sea of Galilee to Capernaum, to visit the ruins of the ancient synagogue. On to Tabgha, the site of the miracle of feeding the 5,000 and the Church of Multiplication, where the mosaic floor depicts a basket with loaves and fish. Pass by the Mount of Beatitudes, traditional site of the “Sermon on the Mount”. We ascend to the Golan Heights to view the peaks of Mt. Hermon, the rugged plateau, and beneath it the green pastoral Hula Valley. See former Syrian fortifications and Druze villages, passing by Banias, the source of the Jordan River. Return to Tiberias for another lovely night in town. BD
Day 5 -Saturday
28 January
Nazareth / Jordan Valley / Beit Shean Jerusalem
This morning we travel to Cana to visit the Wedding Church where the miracle of turning water into wine took place. Proceed to Nazareth and the Church of Annunciation, where you will also see Mary’s well and Joseph’s Carpentry Church. Drive through the landscapes of the Jordan Valley to Beit Shean with its recently excavated amphitheater. Visit the excavations of this beautiful preserved Roman City which was ,destroyed in an earthquake. Continue to Jerusalem, to check-in at your hotel. BD
Day 6- Sunday
29 January
Jerusalem New City / Ein Karem
Drive up to Mt. Scopes and the Mount of Olives for a view over the magnificent Old City of Jerusalem. Enjoy the spectacular panoramic view of Jerusalem. The holy city for each of the world’s three great religions – Christianity, Judaism and Islam, Jerusalem occupies a unique place in the world. On to the Garden of Gethsemane with its olive trees and the Church of All Nations. Continue to the Israel Museum’s Shrine of the Book with the famous Dead Sea Scrolls,then a visit to the beautifully renovated model of the Herodian city of Jerusalem, dating back to the time of the Second Temple. Continue to Yad Vashem {the memorial to the six million Jews who were killed in the Holocaust}. An afternoon drive to the picturesque village of Ein Karem before the Sabbath descends over the city. Return to hotel. BD
Day 7- Monday
30 January
Jerusalem Old City / Bethlehem and transfer to the airport
Enter through one of the Gates to the walled Old City to visit the renewed Jewish Quarter, the Western Wall, the Temple area and the colorful bazaars. In the Christian Quarter walk along the cobblestone streets of the Via Dolorosa, passing the Stations of the Cross and ending at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Drive to Mt. Zion and visit the tomb of King David, the Room of the Last Supper and Dormition Abbey. In the afternoon continue to Bethlehem to visit the Church of the Nativity and Manger Square before returning to Jerusalem for overnight or transfer to the airport for a 31 Jan. 01:00 departure back to Canada. {Arrival at 06:30} BD
Day 8- Tuesday
31 January
Dead Sea / Masada tour
Early departure to Masada. Drive to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth at almost 1300 feet {420 meters} below sea level. Drive along the shores of the Dead Sea to Masada. Ascend by cable car and tour the ancient fortress where the Zealots made their last stand against the Romans before committing mass suicide in 73 AD. Descend by cable car. On to Ein Gedi Spa on the shore of the Dead Sea to enjoy the therapeutic qualities of the rich mineral hot springs and Dead Sea black mud as well as the unique experience of floating on the rich mineral water of the sea itself. Day 9 – Wednesday
1 February
Free day in Jerusalem or Tel Aviv
A day to explore Jerusalem or Tel Aviv {1hour by bus}. In the evening transfer to the airport for a 2 Feb. 01:00 departure back to Canada. {Arrival 06:30} BD
