Day 1 – Thursday: Jerash • Amman
Drive from Jerusalem to the border. Proceed to Jerash - City of the Decapolis, located about 45Kms north of Amman in the fertile heights of Gilead. Visit Roman city with colonnaded streets, the ancient theater, the baths and the hill of the top temple, the triumphal arch. Then drive to Amman for a City tour of the Jordanian Capital. Overnight in Amman.
Day 2 – Friday: Madaba • Mt Nebo • Petra
Drive to Madaba to see the ancient mosaic map of the Holyland & ruins of historical sites. Continue to Mount Nebo, where Moses viewed the Promised Land. Visit the remains of the Byzantine church with a mosaic floor, proceed via the Crusader’s castle - Shobak, to Wadi Mussa, the modern village of Petra for overnight. (B)
Day 3 – Saturday: Petra • Amman
Ride on horseback to the “Siq.” Continue on foot to Petra known as “Sela Edom” or red rock city, the ancient capital of the Nabateans from 3rd Century BC to 2nd Century AD. Visit the carved monuments such as the Treasure (El Khazneh - a thomb of a Nabatean king) then the field of tombs, obelisks, the altar. Overnight in Amman. (B)
Day 4 – Sunday: Departure
After breakfast cross the Jordan River and drive back to Jerusalem. (B)
